Nashville, TN (March 30, 2009) - Save the City Records has announced the Fall 2009 release of well-known Seattle producer/singer/songwriter Brandon Bee's debut CD, This Is The Revolution.
The pop/rocker first came to the attention of the production world under the mentorship of producer Lou Carto (Randy Travis, B.B. King) and Dove Award-nominated Christian artist/producer Morgan Cryar. After moving back to the Northwest from Nashville, Bee began producing bands in Seattle's growing Christian music scene and traveling to Nashville, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Canada to produce artists including Amber Pacific, Jaime Jamgochian, Lanae Hale, Juno Award nominee/Island Award winner Matthew James and GRAMMY Award nominee/Dove Award winner Stacie Orrico.
In addition, Bee's behind-the-scenes talents have brought him to the attention of many of the music industry's top companies, including Geffen Records, Sony BMG Music Entertainment and Warner Music Group, who have tapped him for development work.
Currently serving as the worship leader at Calvary Fellowship Gig Harbor outside of Tacoma, Wash., Bee is a sought-after worship leader at churches and conferences across the country.
"Brandon Bee brings a bold new sound to the landscape at a time when many of the artists in the Christian music industry have a similar sound," says Derek Hoiem, president of Rain on Me Productions, the parent company of Save the City Records. "Brandon is already well known in the Northwest, and we are very excited to be able to introduce his music to the rest of the world."
Bee is part of a new generation of worship leaders that has been influenced by the music of Switchfoot, U2 and Coldplay, yet still honors the devotional spirit of the Integrity, Vineyard and Maranatha music of decades past. He deftly blends old and new on his new project. Vintage drum sounds are juxtaposed with sumptuous modern guitars; pop melodies and lush vocals are fused with indie rock sensibilities. The result is a wonderfully rich and textured sound.
This Is The Revolution's overarching theme emerges from Romans Chapter 7 where Paul describes the battle waging within each of us between what we intend to do and what we actually do. The title cut explores the metaphor of warfare, encouraging the believer to fight for peace.
Bee's songwriting offers honest and perceptive observations on the Christian life. An example, "Fly Like a Bird," which he co-wrote with 2007 "American Idol" songwriting contest winner Scott Krippayne, presents a snapshot of a typical housewife--lonely, unfulfilled and overwhelmed even while surrounded by the love of her family--who is set free as she reads the Word.
Mixed by Todd Robbins (Little Big Town, dc Talk, tobyMac), This Is The Revolution features Luke Stillar from BEC Recordings worship band Telecast on guitars and Dango (Amber Pacific, Tommy Walker) and Aaron Mlasko (drum tech for Pearl Jam, Tori Amos, The Wallflowers) on drums.
Brandon Bee's This Is The Revolution will be available on Save the City Records, a division of Rain On Me Productions, LLC. For more information on Brandon Bee and his new album, This Is The Revolution, visit www.myspace.com/brandonbeemusic or www.savethecityrecords.com.
